Hey guyssssssssss!! It’s been 2 years 😔! I know i’m always disappointing you guys, but i’m really sorry. Y’all expect more from me but i’m always the problem. I’m working on myself I promise. How are y’all doing? I hope I met you good. I missed you guys a lot and I hope you pardon me for my inconsistency.
I really hope y’all are surviving this season. As for me, i’ve accepted this because miss rona won’t let us be and the cases keeps increasing everyday and i really don’t think this is stopping anytime soon. This boils down to the fact that Nigerians are very stubborn. But they really can’t do anything because the government has refused to provide anything that’d stop them from going out. People need to eat, especially those daily workers, they only earn money on daily basis, so it really can’t be helped. I put everything in God’s hands and i really hope they don’t ease this lockdown because it’s definitely going to affect everyone if they do.
Happy New Month and welcome to my blog. If you’re new to this blog, let me reintroduce myself. My name is Anjorin Molayo, a student of University of Lagos, studying Mass Communication.
What have you guys been up to? I’ve tried to make this period productive by starting an online training, learning a new language, and definitely my project, even though i’ve abandoned that for a long while now. I guess that’s it for now.
Currently listening to this amazing song 🥺, thanks to Steven. It has been on repeat for the past three days. I totally recommend it.
Moving on, what really is personal empowerment? When we think of personal empowerment, our instincts might tell us that it’s about empowering ourselves so that we are on a level playing field with every other person around us. While this could definitely be true, I don’t think it is what personal empowerment is really about. Let me explain why. If we could be so hung up on trying to impress people, we’re just going to lose sight of ourselves. If we lose the personal part of personal empowerment, then it’s meaningless. It should be about empowering yourself and you alone in ways that you want to be powerful, and not about trying to impress certain persons.
Personal empowerment is about looking at who we are and empowering ourselves as individuals. It is all about developing the confidence and strength to set realistic goals and fulfil our potentials. In this age, we are motivated more than ever by external forces that are trying to guide us to do what they want. Talk about our parents for example, they want us to pursue professional careers especially careers in science and technology. They are always bothered about the careers that’ll bring a lot money. While growing up, I was influenced by my parents not to take theatre arts as a career. My mum was so keen on me changing my course. She sighted so many bad things happening in the industry. I had to pick Mass Communication, which was my other option, a career I can also benefit from.
There are lot of ways you can go and get a really great job and be successful, but if you’re not even successful in the way that you want to be successful, then it won’t matter. So personal empowerment should put happiness as the centerpiece of success.
Our mind is like a kaleidoscope. We have to tune our mind to the way we want things to be and then see the magic. Clarity of vision helps you have command over your life and not let other command life.
Empowerment will help take control of our life by making positive choices and setting goals. Developing confidence, self awareness, an understanding of our strengths and weaknesses. We just have to keep aiming for what we really want, not what other people want us to be. Take opportunities to enhance personal growth, which is very necessary in life.
Identify your passion and it will ultimately become your Identity.
What have you been up to?
How are you holding up in this season?
Do you experience any setbacks in doing what you want?
What do you do when your decisions are influenced?
Are you happy with whatever you’re doing now?
I tried to make this post short as possible. I’ll be expecting your responses.
Thank you, X.
See you soon.3
