Hi guys, today’s challenge topic is family. I’m quite sensitive about this topic because it means a whole lot to me.
No one can deny that family is the foundation of society, a family is where we start our life journey. The family shapes us and helps us grow to achieve meaningful goals throughout our lives. When we talk about family, what comes to our minds is a group of related individuals, including children, parents and other relatives. Everyone defines family differently, however, the significance of the family is the same. The family is the most important feature in one’s life. For me, my family means everything, I can always turn to my parents and my siblings for help and affection.
The word “family” conjures up a series of images and emotions. Many times we can look at family with feelings of warmth, love, happiness, and safety. Just as many times, however, family can bring up pain and frustration and flat out trauma. Families are as complicated as the individuals that make them up.
The thing with families are we don’t get to pick which ones we belong to. We walk around with their DNA trying to define who we are. Who do we look like? Are we really just like our mothers? Do we really have Grandparent’s attitude? Is our optimism from our father? Do I get my anger and insecurity from my mother? All questions that a lot of us carry throughout our day, sometimes we can answer them, sometimes we can’t.
We can belong to a unit that exudes happiness and safety, but we all still have our monsters. Our family members get the backstage view of our lives. They see the best and worst in us. My family is the best thing that has ever happened to me, the only truthful backbone I have on earth, my hope, my life, my world. And when I mean family, it’s not just my mum, dad, siblings and relatives, I mean those that I love and loves me back in return. And to my ardent readers, y’all are my family. I love you guys so much.
I watched a series titled “Blackish”. The show revolves around family lives. One thing I learnt from this show is that family is about commitment, you can never say goodbye to family.
WHAT IS YOUR FAMILY CIRCLE LIKE?
See you guys soon.
